OUR STORY

Manor Road Pre-school was founded by Mary Wheeler in the 1970s. Back then, there were only 12 children per session and the staff worked without pay for the first year to enable them to purchase equipment for the children! Many of the staff over the years have been mums of children at Pre-school which has helped us to maintain a family-like atmosphere.

We are now a charity run pre school and with the dedicated support of parents the committee and the local community we continue to improve and progress providing EY education to the little ones of Rusthall Village and surrounding areas.

Our sessions are held in the URC Hall and daily activities include construction, painting and craft, small world play, home corner, dress up and role play, musical instruments, cooking, puzzles and mathematical pursuits (among many others). We also have a dedicated outdoor space (with bikes, ride-ons, hoops, stilts, parachutes (to name a few) that are used most days even during the Winter months: In 2022 we had an awning fitted to the outside wall, this gives our children the opportunity to access most activities outside as well as inside, during all weathers.  And recently we raised enough money to open up our backyard with a new mud kitchen!!
